Manassas is a great place to live. Lindsay (an actual artist) and I submitted our art this year for the annual banner contest. This is the second year the city has done this. Artists around town can submit up to three pieces and a jury selects the best 60 or so pieces to print on banners and hang around town.
The only real downside is the weather has been pretty sucky (although great for the garden!!!!). It's been raining pretty much all week, and the forecast for the next week looks the same. The folks here at Love, Charley, the boutique we are set up at, tell us that usually this event is packed. The rain has probably kept a lot of people indoors tonight.
Incidentally, I haven't been blogging as much as I wish I could be lately. This is the busiest time of year for the garden, so I've been outside every available hour. I pretty much have everything prepped here now for Spring, so more content should be coming soon. My spring bulbs all put on a great show this year. Tulips, crocuses, orchid irises, hyacinths, and Spanish bluebells were among the best looking ones. My irises are starting to come out and the alliums are just starting to form their globe buds.
